Live with Kelly and Ryan made me cry after what they did for this woman
The Smart Habit that Makes Kelly Ripa a Better Mom
As a mom, you develop crazy behaviors that you never imagined that you would have (like waking up and immediately flippingElmo's Worldon TV instead of the TODAY Show—even when your kids are staying with your in-laws for the weekend). Kelly Ripa, a mom of three, says that the new habit she picked up as a parent is a little different, though: going to the gym.
"It would have never have occurred to me to exercise before I had kids. Ever," says theLive with Kelly and Michaelco-host and Motrin's Unstoppable Mom's campaign spokeswoman.
"Now, I find that I need it to clear my head," she said in an exclusive interview with WomensHealthMag.com. "I need strength and stamina because raising kids is the toughest job there is. And it’s the most rewarding—but it's exhausting, and it's hard work. My childless self would have died laughing seeing me in a gym."
Even though she never imagined that getting sweaty before her kids even get out of bed would be a part of her routine, Kelly says that she makes herself work out even when she doesn't feel like it. "Sometimes it's not so pleasant, and you don't want to wake up to go on a jog in the morning, but I just force myself to do it," she says.
"I find time to work out because if my body is in good shape, my mind is in good shape. It clears out my brain, and it helps me think." We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
Now through December 21, Kelly is teaming up with Motrin to bring moms more tips and tricks that have worked for other women. Check out some of the advice (and share yours!) on the campaign's Facebook page for a chance to win a gift card every week.
