Man Whose Job It Is to Stop Sexual Assault Sexually Assaults a Woman
Well, here's some very not-funny-at-all irony for you: The man in charge of a military sexual assault prevention unit was arrested for groping. Yep. Really.
Lt. Col. Jeff Krusinski, who until recently was the head of the Air Force's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office, has been charged with sexual battery for drunkenly groping a woman in a parking lot. (Those scratches on his face in the pic to the left? Yeah, they're from the woman he attacked trying to fight him off.)
Not only is this guy's behavior disgusting and despicable on its own, but it also highlights a serious problem in our military if the dude in charge of trying to prevent sexual assault is actually assaulting women himself. Especially since the situation of women in the armed forces being assaulted seems to be getting worse: According to a report the Pentagon is set to release today, there were over 3,000 more cases of assault in 2012 and a whopping 26,000 people (anonymously) said they were assaulted but never formally reported the abuse.
At least the Air Force fired this guy's ass but, honestly, we don't know what else to do but shake our heads at this whole situation.
