How to Make Rice With Milk
Making rice with milk is easy, and very tasty. This can be a simple dessert to finish a meal, or just a quick snack. This wikiHow will tell you how to make rice with milk.
Stove Top Method:
4 cups of milk
1 cup of sugar
3 cups of rice
¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon or 2 cinnamon sticks (optional)
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
Dash of allspice
2 drops of vanilla
Sugar, to taste
Stove Top Method
Pour 4 cups of milk into a pot and let sit for 2 minutes.
Add 1 cup of sugar to the milk.
Add three cups of rice.
Cook for seven minutes over a medium high heat (we don't want to scorch the milk) until it begins to boil.
Add 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the rice.
Turn the heat down to low.
Cover the pot and let it sit for eight minutes.
In place of ground cinnamon use 2 cinnamon stick broken in half and let the cinnamon sticks boil with milk in step 2.Remove sticks before adding rice.
Add precooked rice to a microwavable bowl.Add just enough to fill or enough to fill approximately 2/3 of the bowl.
Add milk to the bowl.Add just enough so the milk almost covers the rice.
Microwave the milk and rice for 1 minute and 20 seconds.Time may vary depending on microwave.
Remove from the microwave and add the following.
- Dash of cinnamon
- Dash of nutmeg
- Dash of allspice
- Two drops of vanilla
- Sugar to taste
